Sea horses are amazing fish with a horse looking head, a monkey-like tail, and covered in hard plates like body armor! These tiny but tough creatures represented in many different species that reside in coastal waters around the world, and many of them are in varying stages of either endangered or vulnerable statuses. Near shore pollution is one of their biggest threats today.
Fun facts about sea horses- they are the slowest fish on earth, and use only a tiny tiny fin and a swim bladder to get around. They don't have a stomach, so they snack all day long! Color changing is one of their many skills, and they use it to either avoid being eaten by sea turtles or penguins, or to attract their life partner. Male sea horses win father-of-the-year, they are the ones in the relationship to carry and birth their almost 1,000 babies!
